Morphology Begins in Kindergarten: What Can Morphology Instruction Look Like Across the Grades?: This presentation will help participants understand the definition of a ‘morpheme’ and the implementation of ‘morphology instruction’ throughout the age span, which begins prior to the start of formal education. Participants will learn about the importance of affixes, as well as learn about materials used to teach morphology. Participants will also learn about the components of a sample morphology lesson.

About our Speaker: Lori Josephson is a passionate educator, educational consultant for children, families/caregivers, and teachers, and author of ‘Calling All Neurons! How Reading and Spelling Happen’. With over four decades of expertise in working with children, families, caregivers, and teachers, she has a deep focus on phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, and more. she holds a master’s in special education from Columbia University and is a Fellow of The Orton-Gillingham Academy. Lori has conducted over 500 professional development workshops on literacy topics, and, in recent years, has shifted toward entrepreneurial ventures related to the Science of Reading, including the creation of an educational platform (lorijosephson.com), authoring books, and leading the Facebook group “Science of Reading – What I Should Have Learned in College”.
