About this Workshop:

Session #3: Content-Area Literacy for Lasting Learning

Unlock the connection between literacy and the brain in this engaging session designed for educators across all grade levels. Learn practical, content-area literacy strategies that strengthen working memory, support long-term learning, and improve student attention. Grounded in cognitive science and classroom practice, this session will leave you with immediately usable tools to enhance learning in any discipline.

Inspired by The Writing Revolution, this three-part series builds on its core concepts to help teachers develop effective, practical strategies that elevate student writing. While the sessions loosely follow The Writing Revolution’s framework, they are designed for any teacher or literacy leader looking to enhance instruction, regardless of the program or curriculum their district follows. Participants will leave with ready-to-use tools, actionable strategies, and renewed inspiration to help students grow as confident, capable writers.

Each session will be held in-person at Hall Memorial School Library (111 River Road, Willington CT 06279).
